Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Bremerton, Washington was restored with some remodeling in 2008. A pro-life shrine dedicated to The Holy Innocents and a shrine in honor of San Lorenzo Ruiz were added. The vestibule was extended and a new baptismal font was placed just inside the nave. It matches the style of the new altar and ambo. Vintage stations of the cross were purchased and restored. Gold leafing trim was added around the statues in the sanctuary and on the ceiling. Also added were new lights and lighting system and a new sound system. Faux finished pillars were added in the sanctuary and smaller pillars in the back. The curve of the arch in the sanctuary was changed by adding the pillars and wood molding to look more Romanesque like other areas in the church such as the window frames and church entrance. A new hanging sanctuary lamp was installed. Not showing in these pictures are the new matching candlesticks for the old altar holding the tabernacle, a standing crucifix for the new altar, a thurifer, incense boat with stand that were purchased. Much woodwork was done throughout the church such as the Wainscoting in the sanctuary, the new doors to the confessionals, Reconcillation room, steps throughout the church and handrails. Marble foor was installed in the sanctuary, and tile in the nave and vestibule. Five new stained glass windows depicting the luminous mysteries of the rosary and a window with Pope John Paul II separate the vestibule from the nave. The <b>...</b>
